people are saying they don't want politics on mastodon but to a certain extent mastodon, and by extension posting and being on it, feels like an inherently political statement.

@b that's cool I'm not trying to tell anyone why our what to do just that this site feels inherently different from the others and participating in it is participating in that difference.
The Punk movement was also arguably political. Mastodon is like nu-punk Atlantis without the clashes.
That being said don't take this as an indictment of content warnings. They are part of the statement and I'm all for them.
