If by unpopular opinions you mean white nationalism, then you should consider that they want to dismantle democracy as we know it, to remove press freedom and all manner of nasty things.

It's all well and good if it's just opinions. But the kind of speech they're criticized for defending is actionable IMO. See the paradox of tolerance

I'm less concerned with the rights of people to commit incitement (which I agree should be none) and more with the legal precedents established in prosecuting those people.

Bad precedent can actually hurt the rights of people to speak and assemble. Unfortunately in common law based systems, challenging those precedents usually requires representing someone in court to appeal the ruling.
