i think part of the reason i'm sticking with masto as opposed to when i tried out app.net is the people who were here when i got started
adn was full of techie startupy people and the conversation wasn't really one i was interested in joining
masto was full of queer people and furries and the conversation (while still often about the service itself) was a bunch of quirky memeing that i wanted to stick around for

Some Japanese call Mastodon as "鱒丼",That means bowl of rice topped with trout sashimi.
It's because "鱒丼" is pronounced "masudon" and Japanese pronunciation is similar to Mastodon.

Particularité UX: le détail d'un toot se fait en "slidant", pas par double-tap. C'est un peu déconcertant au début mais on s'y fait.

non urgent aesthetical requests:
* a settings dialog that mirrors tweetdeck's so that you dont have to leave the One Big Page With All The Stuff would be nice
* being able to position + crop avatars and headers would be cool
* have expanded statuses open in the column you expanded them in
* actually just a general "more column customization would be nice"
there's so many mastodon bots for things that could be just features built in
statsbot: just put it on a page at /about/stats
followbots: all you need is to have simple exporting and importing lists of federated users and for large instances to export lists

When you design a CoC for your #Mastodon or #GNUSocial instance, remember that you want enough strictness to:
- Kick ESR off if he shows up
- Aggressively ban botters & 4chan
- Shut up the nazi-brigade when they come
- Protect your users from abusive third parties.
