On our way to the "eat shit, Nazi scum" Boston counter-protest. Riding the Orange Line to Roxbury Crossing. Four signs and one "nevertheless, she persisted" shirt in easy view.
Roxbury Crossing. I have never seen this many white folks in this station before.
Street side is crowded with counter-protestors. Cops across Malcom X and Tremont. Sax player tuning up.
Crowd is flowing down Malcolm X Blvd, assembling at the high school. Activists en route handing out free signs. A sign-making group to my left is promising cookies.
"Which side are you on?" "The freedom side!" https://icosahedron.website/media/NcuJ8IiMKhOThVitbE8
Overheard: "You know it's bad when the librarians have turned out."
WBZ4 doing an interview
Mood is pretty upbeat. Brief bit with speakers about to happen, then we march downtown.
"Even if you think you're standing in the South End, you're standing in Roxbury!"
Hey, we've got a brass band

image uploads have glitched on me, but the march is under way
really glad I didn't go with the tall Docs today
the day-star, it burns
I bet there's a fried-dough vendor looking at this crowd and going, "GOD FUCKING DAMMIT"
Vuvuzelas in full force at Tremont and Clarendon
March was held up when we were right by the CVS. hashtag capitalist conspiracy
Taking a shade, knee-rest and hydration break in a little park. I'm hearing that the fascist fuckleheads have left the bandstand and got a police escort out of town
On my way home. We stopped for a quick bite at a pho place. The street vendors' loss was Chinatown's gain. The whole march from Roxbury was peaceful. I'm hearing from birdsite that the only unpleasantness happened because the cops didn't have a clue how to get the Nazis off the Common.
signs from the march
(pictured: two placards with "45" stylized to resemble a swastika and a red "no" slash through it)

a photo from near the start of the march --- we arrived pretty early, so we were near the speakers to begin with, and then behind a lot of people when the procession got going
a view from the side, near the end of the route
OK, that's it for me today. Tired.
I tried to get a pic of Tito Jackson addressing the march at the beginning https://icosahedron.website/media/uQoLoQcX-mv2uhb-WNs
