@schlink "IT'S A BAD LAW THAT'S WHY WE SHUT THEM OFF WITHOUT GIVING THEM ANY TIME TO SWITCH OR EVEN A SINGLE WORD ABOUT IT UNTIL /A F T E R/ WE SUDDENLY SHUT THEM DOWN."

@gaditb @schlink That would have been a good question for the reporter to ask on the phone, indeed.

@gaditb @schlink "It's a really bad cake, and we have it, but we want to eat it too."

@gaditb @schlink I don't think that giving them time to switch or giving them notification is legally permissible.

@feld @schlink Huh, that's an interpretation I haven't heard anyone saying anything about it being possible (I'm pretty sure it definitely isn't KNOWN to be impermissable because iirc it's totally ambiguous what FOSTA/etc actually means (besides "bleep you SWers")),

But also like even after shutting them off, they sent only a vague "Against Our TOS" to them, without specifying in the slightest. They said reams more to VICE than to Switter.

@gaditb @schlink the reality is that the gov't thugs will raid their offices and servers if they host that content, period.

They have to terminate that hosting immediately to protect themselves.

@feld @schlink fine, but they also could have said anything about it, even afterwards. They didn't, until it became a Story. That was a jerk move that points to at least some level of insincerity.
