your friendly periodic reminder to plz hide animated gifs (mark nsfw) & provide a warning about the content. flashy or rapidly changing graphics can trigger seizures, migraines, headaches, overstimulation, and just general annoyance.

@compthink YES! i totally agree. there's been a couple bots i've blocked for that too... it's just impolite not to hide the gifs if the option is there.
@ghost Good tip! I think I may have shared a couple yesterday & never occurred to me to hide them because they weren't porn or gore.

@ghost Note that animated gifs can currently be put in profile pics (I've only seen one so far.)
@larrybob yeah that's my other toot i've been re-boosting regularly. i have a firefox add-on to disable animated gifs. it works on userpics, but not on posts, because posts convert gifs to mp4 or something like that.
@ghost also, they are just annoying, if I notice two or three animated gifs from one person I just block and don't look back.
