@nolan @followbot Don't know about a consensus, but I personally don't see them being a real problem. One good suggestion I heard was that the bots should ignore people with #nobot in their profile or something like that. Kinda like a robots.txt.

@neon @followbot if there's only gonna be one follow bot, i'm fine with it. multiple will not be ok
@archaicartist @followbot There's going to be one for each instance that feels like their federated timeline is too sparse. So there might be very many.

like @follow_dragon could have a cool ass dragon with the mastodon follow icon as a tattoo or something

@archaicartist @followbot @follow_dragon Yeah that'd be cool. If I end up making a follow bot for my instance (which I doubt but you never know) I'll surely theme it to be a tad interesting. At least an avatar, the blank avatar is just so boring.
