For my geo-friends in mastoland - #FOSS4G's first 10 accepted presentations just got announced, and a panel I'm working on has apparently made the cut.
If you're headed to Boston this August, come throw tomatoes and cabbages at us during the "What the Heck Does an Open Source Job Look Like, Anyway?" panel
@sarasomewhere oh no! I never finished voting!
@erikfriesen @sarasomewhere FOOL your voice is worthless WORTHLESS
@erikfriesen YOU HAVE UNTIL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT (AOE) GET ON IT
these were just the first round of early-acceptances
@sarasomewhere - cool, I hope I find out soon
@sarasomewhere And I got a paper accepted - I knew pirates would make it popular, just need to carry out the experiments now.
Once an academic always a procrastinator :-)
@Ianturton at least you (and I; shamelessly admitted) aren't alone in that -- I thought it was great to see proof of mass procrastination in their latest blog post!
TL;DR: four days prior to close of CFP, they'd received 90 abstracts total. In the last four days, they received 336 more abstracts.
@Ianturton and also, congrats! See you in Boston. :)
@sarasomewhere That's awesome. can't make it but if we ever cross paths, would love to hear your take on it.
