PSA: if a user habitually boosts stuff you don't want to see, you can turn off boosts just for them without unfollowing them
view their profile in the regular masto UI and you'll see a "Hide boosts from X" in the hamburger menu
this can make the whole experience a lot less annoying, but it's not well-known!
@technomancy I needed this info like last month! Haha, thanks!
@technomancy thank you!
@pokey This feature was made for you.
@lostnbronx
No. I wouldn't want to ignore everything. Some of it is very interesting.
@johnnynull @technomancy
@technomancy I need this feature on the bird site.
@technomancy I think that needs a very recent version of masto. My instance doesn't have it for e.g.
Maybe it's a dev or beta version?
@gemlog I'm on 2.3 but I thought I had seen it on 2.2?
@technomancy I'm not hosting, just a user at this point. Where can I read the version as a user?
@technomancy I wish @Tusky had this feature!
@technomancy What Mastodon version is that? It's not in the latest stable release. Could be that your instance is running a fork?
@technomancy That's great! I'd love an option to just put all boosts into a separate pane. That way I could view original content first, then if I've got more time, go read boosts as a sort of "You may also like..."
@technomancy oh very cool thanks a lot
@technomancy we need a LOT more options. better put... c'mon all you supposedly awesome programmers (#calling you suckers out)... we. can. do. so. much. better.
secret one: forget $
life is heaven. :)
@technomancy thanks for pointing this out. i believe in #personaltotaltransparency because i have nothing to hide. i have failed and i still fail. true for everyone. i want to persecute no one. not even an ant. i have been "accidentally" sweeping up ants here and there. i try not to, but i could slow down.
probably best to live barefoot on hard packed wonderful green lush (or whatever!) paths running to the springs
fresh water
fresh gentle fish
fresh freedom

@technomancy Oh, wow, this will be really helpful.
@technomancy
Woah this is awesome
