cardboard is great for prototyping when you're 100% sure you're going to get it wrong several times before you're happy with it
working with notches and panels in true 3D is a bit more tricky than my traditional layered approach, but you get the hang of it
chassis is more or less complete, but I want to add a face plate to the screen
still a lot of wiring to do including the battery, waiting for a thin HDMI cable to get shipped
I want to add a panel on the left with LEDs and toggle switches, going to have a lot of fun with that

the keyboard is wired and working, but most importantly I now have a killer faceplate

#cyberdeck is live! my thin video cable arrived. still needs a lot of work on the battery.
(haha just kidding; there's tons more work to do. but I'll have the schematics posted at some point and hope to offer kits for sale)
@technomancy that is substantial redesign from what I recall to be an attachment!
@codingquark yeah, the attachment worked better than I expected, but when I took it on a trip it bent out of shape and was really difficult to get reattached. this should be a lot more durable, plus I can attach more brackets to strengthen it if it's not enough.
@technomancy This is super lovely
@ifixcoinops thanks! I've been working hard on it. I built a previous model which was based on Android and it just felt unsatisfying, but this @PINE64 based one is very promising so far.
it's weird how hard it is to find a board with onboard battery charging support and non-HDMI video ever since the CHIP went under!
@technomancy holy Atreus cyber deck !
Amazing!
