When my ancestors came to the colonies like seven generations ago or whatever from the Caribbean they were mulatto and whenever a white person learns this detail about me they're like "omg do you like, tan really well??" and I'm just like…… hon…

Like I really thought the whole one-drop rule stuff had died out but then you hear white people talking about the fact that you're 0.0075 black like it's some exotic feature and nope silly me this is America
@u2764 lol yea breakdowns of what % of what you are kind of uhh dehumanizes your history? the whole point of ancestry projects is to learn how you fit in to the bigger picture and often you find surprises
