"Cherry Bomb" - John Cougar Mellencamp

Thank you, 8tracks.com, for always having my musical back.

I feel like listening to some Bruce Springsteen and some John Mellencamp this morning.
No idea why...

Everybody's got a hungry heart...

Morning, Mastos!
Beautiful, cool, clear morning here in the desert!
Dogs fed, birds fed, garden and grass watered.
Sipping my herbal detox tea, waiting on an email reply, trying to remain positive that it's a genuine buyer, not another fetishist/scammer.
Watching Odin (aka Mr Boog) enjoying the pleasant morning air in one of his Odin-holes (places in the yard where he has dug shallow holes in the dirt - we're slowly growing grass, but it is only 40% of the yard, currently)

Eating hot food (not spicy hot, but temperature hot) on a hot day == nose runs!

Mother-in-law arrived home early this morning and she's already on the go - busy busy busy.
She's buying a car, registering my husband's Camaro and she bought some screen cloth for the fences on the West side of the yard.
She also ordered some pallets of those grass plugs we were all talking about and they should be here on Monday or Tuesday!
She was a little shocked at my hair cut, but she likes it.

Took the dogs for a lovely morning walk down at the NMSU grounds again.
This time, we walked up the lovely grassy, shady road and up onto the grassy hill at the top.
We also found the fountain! It was large, with sprayers, and turtles (actual turtles, swimming around, not just the American word for tortoise) and a nice easy grade into the water. Dogs had a lovely swim and nearly pulled me in too :)
Then, we had a lovely stroll back to the car - which was still parked in the shade! Yay!

Another beautiful, crisp, cool morning here in the desert.
Was talking to my friend T - the caretaker/groundsman at the big house - and he was saying that the desert actually has a "rainy season" and it starts around about August. Lots of thunderstorms and quite a bit of rain too. He says they were in a drought for a few years, but last year the rains returned, thankfully, as the Rio Grande was completely dry. I remember seeing it and thinking, that's not so grande, is it?
Now, though, it's good

And this new friend is an author and he is PAYING ME (and has paid me already) to read through his novel draft and offer insights and criticisms.
I'm loving it!
If I could do THIS for a living, I'd be a happy kitty.

So, things are looking up in the hair saga. The nasty scammy buyer has disappeared into the wind, but I reported them to the site admins and they were FURIOUS ("we run an honest site here!") with the buyer and they will be "dealing with him" shortly.
Of course, he has the documentation to back him up saying I didn't follow his very STRICT requirements and that's why he refused to pay me.
But, in all this I made a new friend in a weird roundabout way.

Also - Am I the only one left on this instance?
I checked the local timeline and absolutely nobody has said a peep for ages, except me.
Or maybe they've all blocked me?

How does one change instances without having to recreate your profile and all that stuff, and without losing all your toots?

Slept rather badly last night, despite drinking my Zzztox tea and even had a glass of milk after that.
Might have a nap today, as I managed to finish the priority work for my Aussie client in one fell swoop yesterday.
Was pretty pleased with myself.
And then he paid me and it as like... wow... all that work for that? AND Paypal took its cut and it was even less.
I'm loyal, and, obviously, a little bit crazy.

Going to be a scorcher today (in the mid-forties Celsius, and 106/108 Fahrenheit) so I got the dogs fed early and we went for an early walk in a NEW place. They were so excited!
Definitely go back there - quiet (was picking up a little bit when we left, but it is Saturday morning) and clean and cool, with lots of dewy grass for the dogs to roll on.
Not a long walk, but enough, in the already rising temperatures.

I've, yet again, doused myself with mosquito repellent, but these effing bastards just hang around... wafting around my legs and ankles... waiting for it to wear off so they can strike.

I got bitten on my index finger on my left hand.
HOW did it manage that when I've been typing the whole time?

What are you opinions on women with shaved heads (for non-medical reasons)?

These mosquitoes are like members of Hydra.
I kill one and two pop up in its place.

So, Irma is now officially a New Mexico resident.
My head is pounding from the heat, and I am very, very hungry, so IF be damned, I'm having some breakfast so I can take something for my head.
People at the MVD (DMV) were a little taken aback by my new hair style.
(i.e. shaved on a #1)
Especially since I was there yesterday and had hair in a braid down to the small of my back.

Morning, Mastos.
It's only just gone 0830 and it's already a hot one.
Humid too, for some reason. Not a cloud in sight though.
Had to go renew the RV temporary license because the PoA hasn't arrived so I still can't register it here.
I don't care if there's traffic and nowhere to park - if the PoA arrives today, I'm taking Irma down there and getting this done.
