Privacy has always been a key feature and popular selling point for the messaging app WhatsApp. Company co-founder Jan Koum grew up in the Soviet Union under heavy government surveillance, and he promised to keep user data protected after Facebook acquired WhatsApp in 2014. Now, with Koum on the way out, it may be time to ditch WhatsApp before that promise leaves with him.

I just finished writing watch2gether -- a video synchronization service -- clone, which uses youtube-dl as it's backend (hint: this means it supports quite a few sites) and hides the client from tracking sites: http://doji.us.to/

Can people report bugs or issues which could be fixed? It's not quite stable yet, and can be abused (hope nobody here will do that, otherwise I'll just take it down).
